Welcome,

I started "Terry & Gus" because I love comics, video games, technology and gadgets. I have long had a passion for these areas and I wanted to find a way to bring them all together. As a kid I always dreamed of being a comic artist and writing my own comics. I would always turn straight to the comic section in the newspaper, skipping all the boring stuff, reading each comic strip and savoring each punch line. I used to collect and cherish the few comic books that I could get my hands on.  I would cover all my school notebooks in the best comic strips that I found so that I could read them through out the semester.

Always drawing as a kid, my friends would always get me to draw pictures for them and they would be amazed at my skills, but I was an impostor. Although I was OK at drawing, I was really good at copying, I would spend hours copying my favorite comic and cartoon characters until I could reproduce them without needing to look at a picture. This gave me the basics, but I never really learned to fundamentals of drawing and sketching. This lack of fundamentals hurt me later in life, I found that as I met real artists and genuinely talented people my skills flaws started to show. By the time I had finished high school I had pretty much given up on drawing and trying to impress others.

Not really knowing what to do at university I studied media production. I really enjoyed this as it allowed me to be creative, writing short stories and working with a team to produce short films and radio shows. I also found that I enjoyed the technical side of this fascinating, the cameras, computers, mini disk recorders and cables really got me excited. This started me researching and reading about the latest tech on the web. This lead to a career in the AV industry where I learnt stage production, corporate AV and AV integration.

Throughout all this I was an avid gamer, from the early PC games where I played Dig Dug and Commander Keen to the NES with Mario and Double Dragon, to Tomb Raider and GTA 3 on the PlayStation 1 and 2, and finally to the current Xbox 360 / PS3 systems.

As we grow older and many of our childhood dreams start to slip away. I've come to a point where I want to do something that makes me happy and allows me to express who I am. I hope that you enjoy this comic and that you can relate to it in some way.

I still play video games, watch cartoons, read tech blogs and read comics.
